​How to Enter

Employers expect candidates who are applying for Civil Quantity Surveyor jobs to have either a National Diploma in Quantity Surveying or a Bachelor of Construction, and have a detailed understanding of New Zealand’s local by-laws, building regulations and legislation. Any experience with the Commercial, Residential or Civil Construction industries, or work involving calculations or accounting, will also be hugely beneficial. Typical Responsibilities

A Civil Quantity Surveyor may do some or all the following responsibilities:

• Understanding building plans
• Estimating and reporting material and labour costs
• Reporting on civil building projects progression and costs
• Visiting building sites
• Giving advice in value management, such as a comparing building costs to similar buildings

Salary Range

45K – 70K per annum (NZD)
